Q:How to retrieve forgotten password?

A: Logon to http://www.hecas.edu.bn and click on 'Forgotten Password'. You will need to enter your Date of Birth, IC Number and User's Email for verification.

Q:Can i add more Programme Choices?

A: Type in "HECAS ADD <No. of Programme> <IC NO>" and send to 8885555. The maximum number of programmes each applicant can submit is SIX.

Q: If I have 4 programme choices, can I just submit with 1 choice instead of 4 programme choices?

A: Yes, you can actually remove choices at Section C by clicking the button ‘Remove Preference’. However, once a programme choice is removed, the fee is non-refundable and you will be charged $5.00 per programme if you wish to add programmes later.

Q: I can not enter my academic achievements even after I have clicked the 'ADD' button in Section B?

A: You need to disable the pop up blocker in your web browser. Once this is done, the pop up will appear for you to select the examination you have taken. For example, 1st Examination = 'O' level, 2nd Examination = 'A' level.

Q: Why I did not receive any Tracking Number?

A:

i) Please make sure you are using DST Mobile. For non-DST subscribers, please go to the nearest DST counter to request for Password and Tracking Number. The charges are based on the number of programmes selected and DST Counter Service will issue both Password and Tracking number once the payment is made.

ii) Please make sure you have sufficient balance for DST Prepaid Subscriber.

iii) Please make sure you have followed the step by step instruction and double check on SMS Text. Make sure there is no typo error.

Q: Is it possible for applicants who have applied and got rejected to apply HECAS again?

A: Yes, during the same year there may be another intake, applicant can re-submit their previous application at a cost of BND$5. All previous information from the earlier submission will be retrievable.

Q: Can oversea students who are interested to study in Brunei Higher Education Institutions apply to HECAS?

A: No, Overseas applicants will need to apply through their own Ministry of Education or equivalence to Brunei's. HECAS is an application process system for Brunei citizens and residents of Brunei and do not handle application from overseas students.

Q: Can I refund my application fee for HECAS?

A:  i) The application fee is non-refundable unless proven to be technical faults.

    ii) Applicant manually remove preferences are also non-refundable.
